Hi, my name is Andrea! (she/her)
I started Andrea Phillips Therapy to create a progressive therapeutic space that nurtures self-acceptance and aims to create a deeper understanding of important relationships. We all experience multiple significant journeys in our lives, passing alongside family, romantic partners, friends or colleagues. The people that we experience life with have a profound impact on how we define and understand our journey. The therapeutic relationship itself, becomes a partnership that can illuminate new ways of navigating conflict and forging new paths in life.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT, license #MF001330), I have intensive training in viewing problems using a systemic lens. This means that no issue can be understood in isolation. Rather, understanding requires a willingness to look at factors such as immediate family, partnerships, intergenerational trauma, culture, race, gender-identity and relational patterns.
I believe that relationships deeply shape our experiences and how we cope with difficult times. Even when working with individuals, therapy sessions are often focused around gaining a better understanding of how one's relationships are working positively to support them or to define areas where changes are needed. As a therapist, I am honored to collaborate with clients in creating their own goals and to witness the healing process.
I know reaching out can be difficult and I promise to meet you where you are. Please feel welcome to contact me through email or by phone. I am available to answer any questions, to schedule a free 15-minute consultation, or to schedule our first session.
I’m so happy you are here and thinking about therapy. I look forward to hearing from you!
